Effective: 21 September 2026
ChannelUP ("the App") is a live TV guide application for LG webOS TVs, developed by LevelIT UP AV and IT Solutions ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App handles, how optional diagnostic and feedback services use information, and your choices.
ChannelUP does not require a LevelIT UP account and does not include advertising or third-party behavioural analytics. Its normal viewing and guide functions run on your television and communicate with your HDHomeRun tuner and Silicondust services. Information is sent to LevelIT UP only when you explicitly submit an optional diagnostic report or feedback.
The App stores information locally on your LG TV using webOS local storage and db8 so it can operate and remember your choices. Depending on the App version and features used, this may include:
This locally stored information is not routinely sent to LevelIT UP. It may be removed by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App, subject to the behaviour of your television platform.
ChannelUP communicates over your home network and the internet solely for its core functionality:
api.hdhomerun.com (operated by Silicondust) to retrieve program guide data. This is the same API used by official HDHomeRun applications. We do not operate this service and refer you to Silicondust's privacy policy for details on their data practices.discover.hdhomerun.com (operated by Silicondust) to locate your tuner.Requests to internet services necessarily disclose ordinary connection information, such as your public IP address and user agent, to the service operator. ChannelUP does not contact LevelIT UP servers during normal viewing or guide use.
ChannelUP sends a diagnostic report to LevelIT UP only when you explicitly confirm submission in the App. Depending on the available system information and current App state, a report may contain:
Some of these fields are stable device or network identifiers and may be personal information when linked to you. We use diagnostic reports only to provide support, diagnose faults, improve ChannelUP, secure the service and meet legal obligations.
After submitting diagnostics, you may open a linked feedback form. We collect the description you provide, an optional email address, submission time and browser user agent. Cloudflare also processes your IP address for rate limiting and Turnstile verification. If you provide an email address, we use it to send confirmation and respond to your request. Do not include passwords or other sensitive information in feedback.
Diagnostic reports and feedback are processed using Cloudflare services, including Workers, D1, KV, R2, Turnstile and Email Routing. Authorised LevelIT UP personnel may access reports for support and maintenance. Reports and attached feedback are scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Short-lived rate-limit records expire automatically.
Support notification emails and later correspondence may remain in our business email records for longer where reasonably required to respond, maintain records or comply with law. Cloudflare, Silicondust, LG and other service providers may process information in Australia or other countries under their own terms and privacy practices.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Diagnostic submission is optional, and you can decline it while continuing to use ChannelUP's normal functionality.
You may contact us to ask whether we hold information about you, request access or correction, or ask us to delete a diagnostic report or feedback. Include the diagnostic report ID where available. We may need to verify the request and may retain information where required or permitted by law.
ChannelUP is a general-audience television utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children.
We may update this policy if the App's data practices change. The updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
